MARION AUTHOR

Chris Noble will be joining us at a future date for a booksigning and discussion of his book: THE TRAGEDY OF VIETNAM, AGAIN, but could just as easily have been titled PARALLEL WARS.
My son Chase has read and thoroughly enjoyed it. Scott, this is for you. (You know who you are.) For more information, please give us a call.

JANUARY NEWSLETTER

Dear Readers,

Happy New Year one and all....this will be short and sweet as it is winter in Marion and there isn't much happening. Actually I'm not sure I've ever seen it quite so quiet. Kind of scary!

The Wall Street journal states that Charles Dickens' best characters suggest that the story of life is in the striving, the ongoing effort to begin again and become even for a moment, our very best selves. and the first of the year is that raare earnest moment when we are a;; thinking this way, together, resovling to be benevelovent, compassionate, motivated, adventursome.

In these difficult economic times we can no longer be "just" a bookstore. You need to think of us as not just a place for great books but gifts as well. There are always birthdays parties to go to, housewarming/hostess gifts to give and anniversaries to celebrate. Keep your hard earned money in Marion and come see what the local village shops can offer you.

We are still contemplating what the best winter hours will be to accomodate YOU, our loyal customers. If you have any suggestions we are more than happy to listen. We will keep you informed as February approaches.

On an exciting note and looking toward Spring we are working hard to get some key note authors to participate in an evening of Wine, Cheese and a Book, Please. How do Ann Patchett and Kate Jacobs sound to you?

This is all for now. Thanks for reading. And remember there are so many books.... and so little time.

OlovesM Bags

Looking for the perfect holiday gift? Or wanting to treat yourself to something fashionable, fun and unique? How about one of our new OlovesM bags? Designed and hand sewn in Colorado, these bags are the perfect gift (for someone on your list, or for yourself).

We have a variety of styles, from everyday purses to small clutches. The bags are the perfect blend of function and style, using two different mediums. The combination of yoga mat and fabric provide each bag with a different look.

Plus, these bags are eco friendly. The yoga mats are re-purposed and saved from landfills. And the fabric is primarily overruns. Straps and handles are leftover Chaco sandal webbing. All scraps are used for something, so very little goes to the landfills :-)

So, if you're looking for something fun and unique, come in and check them out. To see more, visit The Bookstall or www.olovesm.com
